From January 2018, on Monday mornings at 7.30 am,  I will be offering a 30 minute mindfulness meditation practice by Zoom to support 8 week course graduates  with ongoing practice, and providing the opportunity to start the week in a mindful way.

I would like to invite participants to make a donation to  Newcastle West End Foodbank (www.newcastlewestend.foodbank.org.uk), part of a nationwide foodbank network, supported by The Trussell Trust, providing emergency food to those in crisis and working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.

The Newcastle West End Food Bank

The Newcastle West End Food Bank opened in March 2013 and is the largest foodbank in the UK, feeding more than 40,00 people in the last year. The foodbank provides three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred in crisis.

In the majority of cases the foodbank is able to support people in overcoming their food crisis after three visits. For those in further need, the Integration Project works with specialist agencies to overcome the often complex underlying problems that have led to them needing the foodbank, such as: household debt, unemployment, risk of homelessness, addiction and not claiming full benefit entitlements.

This approach has proved successful in helping people break their dependency on the foodbank, re-engage with employment support and encourage social integration within the community.

Any daily activity can be used as an opportunity for meditation.
